Shell submits Brent decommissioning programme

Shell has submitted a decommissioning programme for the North Sea's Brent oil and natural gas field to the UK government. The plan involves the removal of some of the field's infrastructure, including the topsides of its four platforms. But Shell recommends that other parts of the field, such as the footings of the Brent Alpha platform, remain in place.
