Respiratory muscle dysfunction in facioscapulohumeral muscular dystrophy

Dear Editor, We read carefully the article "Sleep-related breathing disorders in facioscapulohumeral dystrophy" by Runte et al. [1]. We would like to congratulate the authors for the initiative and comprehensive approach of sleep disorders in facioscapulohumeral dystrophy (FSHD), a rare neurological condition [2], in which sleep disordered breathing is even rarer. As we also studied the prevalence, patterns, and indication for noninvasive ventilation (NIV) [3], we would like to highlight some common, additional findings.
