MESSAGE FROM THE EXECUTIVE DIRECTOR

As the 27th ORNAC National Conference, now a virtual conference, draws near there is both trepidation and excitement relating to the outcome with this new conference delivery platform and what will it mean for the future. The positive aspects of a virtual conference include the ability to reach more perioperative nurses and healthcare industry representatives with educational content, across the country and internationally, than could ever be possible with an in-person conference. Industry representatives will not have to face the challenges that come with the preparations for their exhibits. And networking will take place with the ultimate in social distancing and no requirement to wear a mask (imagine... a year ago we had not even considered using terms like social distancing). We are becoming increasingly adept at manipulating the virtual world to suit our needs.
