摘要

Among the 13 bacterial strains isolated from oil industry soil samples from Bhatinda, Punjab, India, Pseudomonas aeruginosa M-13 was selected for lipase characterization because of its high lipase activity. The bacterial strain presented a volumetric lipase activity of 2.65 U/ml in a medium containing nutrient broth supplemented with 2% olive oil after 24 h of incubation. P. aeruginosa M-13 lipase was optimally active at pH 7.0 and at 35 degrees C temperature. The lipase was capable of hydrolysing synthetic triglycerides and a variety of lipidic substrates.
