The study has been aimed at producing low cost blended products which could be taken up to promote cottage industry. Jute-acrylic fibres have been blended with 20 : 80 ratio and yam was spun by rotor spinning. The knitting was done on circular knitting machine. The results show that it is feasible to blend jute with acrylic fibre for yarn manufacturing and knitted fabrics. On woolenisation the overall appearance and feel of the fabric were improved as there was a significant decrease in fabric count, weight of fabric, stitch density, tightness factor, whereas there was an increase in air-permeability, porosity, drapability and crease recovery when cost is compared with 100% acrylic yarn. The blended yarn has less count.
