Scrap's mission is to provide "high-quality content to inform, educate, and connect professional recyclers, creating an engaged audience to support advertisers and advance ISRI objectives." Looking back now, as my 15 years at ISRI come to an end, I'm confident that my colleagues and I have accomplished that mission and more. ISRI Chair Gary Champlin notes one measure of Scrap's success, our many awards, in his "View From the Chair" column on page 7. While our features and columns received the most frequent honors, Scrap also won for cover design, feature layouts, single-topic coverage by a team, and general excellence, signaling the high-quality work of the entire staff. The history story on page 30 touches on another measure of how well we met our mission, Scrap's consistently high ratings in readership and membership surveys across the more than 30 years it has been part of ISRI.
