Prolonged second stage of labor and its impact on maternal and neonatal outcomes have been the focus of a number of research articles. Yet, strict consensus on these outcomes remains unclear. The aim of this meta-analysis was to assess the risk factors that contribute to prolonged second stage of labor and their effect size on maternal and neonatal morbidity.
