The Value and Role of Academic Libraries within the Framework of Institutional Certified Evaluation and ACcreditation: Considering the Use of ISO and JIS Standards

Purpose: This study aims to clarify the position, meaning, and limitations of the evaluation of university libraries in processing certified evaluations and accreditations in Japan. This is done through a comparison with the United States model for certified evaluation and accreditation as well as International Organization for Standardization (ISO) standards concerning university library evaluation. The author also considered the framework of university library evaluation in processing certified evaluations and accreditations.
