This manuscript focuses on the germination and growth responses of five rice cultivars viz., GR 7, GR 11, GR 12, Dandi and Gurjari which were studied to see the ameliorative effect of phytohormone brassinolide under salinity stress condition. To observe the physiological changes, the plants were salinized for 5 DAG, 10 DAG and 15 DAG at two levels 100 and 200 mM using NaCl and two levels (4 and 8 micro M) of brassinolide were used to ameliorate the saline effect by supplementation. It was found that the per cent germination as well as growth of the rice seedlings were affected under salt stress. Brassinolide treatment was found to be ameliorating under salt stress condition as the germination percentage, shoot and root length, fresh and dry weight positively increased when brassinolide was supplemented and also when treated alone, thereby enhancing the yield of the crop under saline condition.
