A new optimism has been fuelled by expectations that the deployment of a coronavirus vaccine next year will ease global economic pain, and mean China won't be the only region driving growth. While the near-term will be prone to risks, given rising infection rates and reimposition of restrictions, the vaccine presents a bright light at the end of the tunnel. However, it will take most of the world a considerable amount of time to get back to where it was before the pandemic, keeping governments and central banks under pressure to maintain or ramp up their massive stimulus programs.
