Expansions and ramp-ups in 2018 will result in global supply of zinc in concentrate rising 4.0% to 13.5Mt. In 2019, new operations such as Vedanta's 250ktpa Gamsberg and Xinjiang Guanghui's 594ktpa Huoshaoyun will accelerate supply growth 5.7% to 14.8Mt and push the concentrate market into surplus. The rise in mine supply over 2018 and 2019 will stimulate finished zinc production. Global finished zinc supply is forecast to increase by 2.8% to 14.5Mt in 2018. In 2019, finished zinc supply growth will accelerate to 3.4% resulting in supply totalling 14.5Mt and the market moving into balance.
