摘要

The Pend Oreille mine, located in Washington State, US, is a MVT deposit mined using room-and-pillar underground techniques—typically a higher-cost technique. The site has average head grades of 6.4% zinc and 1.3% lead, with relatively high cash costs sitting in the fourth quartile when compared with other zinc operations. With minimal by-products to rely on, the site was placed under care and maintenance in 2009 due to high costs. Production at the site recommenced in 2014. Teck's current mine plan for Pend Oreille is until mid-2018. Teck is drilling the surrounding resources and believes there is potential to extent the mine life until 2020.
