Demand for zinc concentrates in China appears to have faltered slightly in September with zinc concentrateimports falling 15% month on month to 192.4kt. Notable importers of concentrate were Baiyin Nonferrous with24.8kt and Shaanxi Dongling with 11.2kt of zinc concentrate. AME believes the decline over September was theresult of a number of smelters completing annual maintenance during the month including Hechi Nanfang at its300ktpa smelter in Guangxi Zhuang. Over the March, June and September Quarters of 2017, zinc concentrateimports have totalled 1.89Mt, an increase of 34% on the same period in 2016.
