Diversity and equality in neurosurgery

We are encouraged by the message of the Neurology and Neurosurgery Interest Group (NANSIG) in their Correspondence,1 on how social media might play a part in mentorship, support, and global connectivity to overcome societal barriers and attract more women to neurosurgery. Although we agree with most explanations to understanding the barriers that women face,1 we believe further factors could positively influence women entering neurosurgery.
