During her early medical training at Paris V University (Paris, France), Catherine Lubetzki developed an interest in neurology by chance, after a random selection process left her as the last in her year group allowed to choose a rotation—and she was left with a neurosurgery rotation in the department of Gerard Guyot, “a renowned neurosurgeon and a wonderful person.
