Headache research in 2020: disrupting and improving practice

Primary headache disorders are, perhaps unsurprisingly, a continued source of medical shame as a major cause of disability globally, with so little time given to the subject in the medical curriculum and little investment in research. Advances in understanding and care of patients with headache disorders thus can have a potentially broad impact. Here, I comment on five clinical papers, published in 2020, that advance thinking about headache disorders,1, 2, 3, 4, 5 and will most likely have implications well into the 2020s.
