EVALUATION OF APPLICATION METHOD OF TRIBENURON FOR BROADLEAF WEED CONTROL IN WHEAT

Tribenuron is effective against some broadleaf weeds in wheat (4) and is a better substitute of 2,4-D which causes developmental deformities in sensitive cultivars (5). A tank mix of tribenuron with isoproturon can increase the spectrum of weed control (3). Many fanners in north-west India apply isoproturon by a broadcast method of mixing it with either sand or urea fertiliser (2) despite lower efficiency in comparison to spray applications. The present experiment was conducted to determine the efficacy of tribenuron when applied by the broadcast method after mixing with either sand or urea.
