EVALUATION OF PRE-EMERCENCE APPLICATION OF HERBICIDES ON WEED CONTROL IN POTATOES

Optimum weed control in potatoes is important if maximum yields are to be obtained. Herbicides are efficient tools for control of annual grass and broad leaved weeds in seed or table potato production (1,2). This trial was planned to test the weed control efficacy, crop phytotoxicity and effect on yield of prometryn and terbutryn application pre-emergence in potatoes and to compare this with standard treatments.
