摘要

Amidosulfuron is a new post-emergence herbicide for broad-leaved weed control in cereals (2). A herbicide screening experiment at IACR-Long Ashton Research Station (3) found that young Rumex obtusifolius (broad-leaved dock) plants were susceptible toamidosulfuron at 30-60g a.i. ha~(-1) while several grasses were tolerant and white clover was only moderately affected, suggesting a possible use in grassland. This paper describes a study to determine the response of established R. obtusifolius plants to amidosulfuron, applied with and without a non-ionic surfactant. Two herbicides for control of R. obtusifolius in grassland, asulam (approved in the UK) and thifensulfuron-methyl (approved in some other European countries), were compared in the trial.
