Anatomy in the Third Reich

On October 29,2010, a public symposium was held on the topic of anatomy in the Third Reich in Wiirzburg, Germany (Pringle, 2010; Hildebrandt, 2011). The symposium was the first meeting on this topic organized under the auspices of the Anatomis-che Gesellschaft, an international anatomical society founded in Germany in 1886. The present special issue of Annals of Anatomy contains the proceedings of almost all of the symposium contributions.
