Department of the Interior Seeks Further Review of Sage-Grouse Management Plans On June 7,2017, Secretary of the Interior Ryan Zinke signed Secretarial Order No. 3353, designed to improve sage-grouse conservation and strengthen communication and collaboration between state and federal governments. See Secretarial Order No. 3353, "Greater Sage-Grouse Conservation and Cooperation with Western States" (June 7,2017). Secretarial Order No. 3353 established an interagency review team to review federal and state sage-grouse management plans and programs. The order requires the interagency review team to consider threats to the species, evaluate state plans for conservation of the species, and consider future management of the species on federal lands. Id. § 4(b).
