摘要

Marvin Gaye may be best known as a singer, songwriter and producer, who helped shape the sound of Motown in the 1960s. His hometown of Washington, D.C., recently built and named a new recreation center after him.The two-story, 7,200-square-foot Marvin Gaye Recreation Center is LEED Gold certified and is the city's first case study for a resilient hub. As such, the building is designed as a place for the community to gather during times of emergencies, such as floods and power outages.
