Symmetry in Mathematics and Music, Brought into class

摘要

What is the relationship between a musician and a mathematician? Is there any mathematics involved in creating music? And if there is, can this relationship be brought into the classroom? We developed a pedagogical way to give students the possibility to investigate the connection between musical composition and geometrical symmetries.
