Welcome to the April 2021 issue of Global Gypsum Magazine-an issue that completes a full year of working from home for the global gypsum/insulation team.It contains our take on the gypsum and gypsum wallboard industries of France and the Benelux countries(Page 16)as well as an interview with Comec,an Italian manufacturer of automated gypsum panel production lines(Pagel2),and all of the latest sector news.Those with an interest in insulation should turn to Page 23 for the latest news,plus Grazyna Mitchener's entertaining account of how ants and polar bears can inform insulation design(Page 26).Looking back a year,the April 2020 issue was mostly assembled before the UK's first lockdown,which began on 23 March 2020.At that time only the most pessimistic would have bet on us still being in lockdown 12 months later.While the past year has brough several false dawns,in the spring of 2021 the vaccines are on our side,hopefully tipping the balance towards normality by the end of this year....as long as we can keep new variants at bay.
