DEMAND-- Good News for Met. Demand as China Pig Iron Rebounds

With import volumes falling in China, AME forecasts global demand for internationally traded metallurgical coal to total around 326Mt in 2018, an increase of 0.2% year on year, down from approximately 5.5% growth in 2017. AME anticipates growth to increase to 4.9% in 2019, reaching approximately 342Mt, driven by a forecast 10% rise in Indian metallurgical coal imports.
