MACRO-- Bumpy Road Ahead as Economies Look to Reopen

As economies tentatively ease lockdown restrictions and business activity gears up to return to normal, the risk of a potentially slow and bumpy recovery looms large. Concerns surround the longer-term consequences of high unemployment and increasingly debt-laden companies, as well as the threat of a second wave of coronavirus outbreaks. The economy is forecast to perform even worse in the second quarter but is set for a significant bounce back later this year and into 2021.
