Eotaxins are chemokines that demonstrate a selective chemotactic role toward eosinophils. Eosinophils play an important role in the pathology of allergic diseases, including atopic dermatitis (AD). During the development of skin lesions they migrate from the blood to the skin and release cytotoxic mediators such as eosinophil cationic protein and protein-eosinophil X. The definition of the factors responsible for its tissue accumulation can be important in further explanation of allergic disease pathogenesis.The aim of this study was to evaluate the correlation between the level of eotaxin-1 /chemokines cytokines ligands (CCL) 11, eotaxin-2/ CCL24, and eotaxin-3/CCL26 in serum and their gene expression levels in the skin of AD patients.
