The relative importance of the Europe to the world's largest tire makers is clearly illustrated in this new analysis,which shows Michelin firmly on top of the pile and-as would be expected-prominent placements for European-headquartered companies overall.While the French tire maker's lead position reflects the scale if its global business,the ranking of both Continental and Pirelli are clearly strengthened by the proportion-of-sales in their home region,at 53% and 48% respectively.Major tire companies that are even more heavily reliant on the European market include Nokian Tyres,with 77% of group sales in the region,Trelleborg with 68% and Brisa,95%.
