India eyes further antidumping measures

INDIA-The government of India has launched investigations into alleged dumping of acrylonitrile butadiene rubber(NBR)and carbon black imports into the country,while also limiting imports of tires into the country The probe into imports of NBR originating from China,the EU,japan and Russia was in response to an application by local manufacturer Apcotex Industries Ltd,said a statement by the commerce ministry's directorate general of trade remedies(DGTR).The Apcotex petition alleged that dumping of the product from these countries were causing material injury to the domestic industry,said DGTR.The period of investigation will be from 1 July 2019 to 31 Dec 2019.according to the directorate.Meanwhile,under a'sunset review'India will investigate whether antidumping duties should be extended for carbon black products originating in or imported from China and Russia.The current duties are valid until November this year.
