UK-The carbon black market entered 2020 in a declining state with two of the world's largest suppliers noting a deterioration in trading conditions.Cabot Corp.reported lower sales due to weakened market conditions and inventory reductions at the end of 2019.Trading in Europe softened as carbon-black supply came online from Russian producers,CEO and president Sean Keo-hane said in an earnings call in late February.The new capacity,added the Cabot boss,impacted contract negotiations and led to a decision to"let go some lower-margin [products] in the tire business."
