First gas from West Nile Delta project First gas ahead of schedule and production above plan

Production from the offshore West Nile Delta (WND) gas fields commenced on 24 March from the first two fields, Taurus and Libra. Nine wells have been commissioned and the fields are currently producing at a flow rate of more than 700 million ft3 of gas per day, according to DEA Deutsche Erdoel AG, Hamburg, Germany. DEA has a 17.25% working interest in North Alexandria and West Mediterranean Deep Water concessions with BP being the operator and owner of the remaining share.
