Extracorporeal therapies in veterinary medicine: what is currently performed in the UK?

Background: Although extracorporeal therapies (ECTs) are commonly used in human medicine, they are still in their infancy in veterinary medicine and are currently only offered in referral or experimental settings. This is expected to change in coming years, with ECTs becoming more widely available throughout the profession, although we acknowledge that while the Covid-19 pandemic is ongoing the provision of some of these therapies might be reduced/altered.
