ROLE OF STUDENTS IN CLIMATE CHANGE AND ENVIRONMENTAL PROTECTION WITH SPECIAL FOCUS ON NATIONAL CADET CORPS CADETS

Climate change and environmental protection are the major issues currently being faced by the global community. A need is to take an urgent action in terms of preparing right practical approach to meet the negative effects of climate change and environmental protection. Global warming,deforestation, pollution, and urbanization are some of the major contributors of climate change. In view of the above,education and awareness drives by young students can be utilized as one of the efficient and effective methods for climate change adaptation and mitigation. This study paper attempts to establish the level of knowledge and perception of young student NCC cadets in India,irrespective of their gender, irrespective of their location,about climate change and environmental awareness. The paper brings out clearly through analysis of very large sample as well as hypothesis testing that Young student NCC cadets have right perception and knowledge and It is essential that such young students must be more involved in decision-making processes as well as field actions for countering climate challenge, environment protection and sustainable development in our all formal government, both central as well as in state government formal policies and programs.
