Importers, wine distributors warn USTR against tariffs on French products

Wine distributors and a prominent business group are among those urging the Office of the U.S. Trade Representative not to use Section 301 to hit French wines with tariffs in retaliation for a tax on digital services that USTR says discriminates against U.S. technology companies. USTR on Tuesday will hold a hearing on tariffs on up to $2.4 billion it could impose on French products. The hearing will feature 33 witnesses across seven panels.
