Penile cancer: Different histopathologic types with a critical clinical approach

Penile carcinoma is an uncommon malignant disease with an incidence of 0.1–0.9 per 100,000 men in Europe and 0.7–0.9 per 100,000 men in the United States. However, in rural populations of Asia, Africa, and South America, the incidence of squamous cell carcinoma of the penis is significantly higher, up to 19 per 100,000 men, constituting nearly 10% of all carcinomas.
