'A Focus on Bioanalytical Chemistry in Spain' from papers presented to: 'Jornadas de Analisis Instrumental (JAI)' 26-29 November 2002, Barcelona, Spain

摘要

Around thirty years ago, taking advantage of the framework offered by a large exhibition by the Spanish chemical industry in Barcelona called Expoquimia, the first meeting entitled "Journadas de Analisis Instrumental (JAI)" took place. These first "working days" in Instrumental Analysis were born in a very unofficial way. A few practitioners tried to emphasize and promote instrumental analysis in a country where classical analytical chemistry was deeply and firmly established in the universities (wet chemistry was better known and cheaper than instrumentation). That original and humble gathering, however, was a fruitful seed which grew at a remarkable pace, every three years, to promote scientific interchange of the research carried out in universities and official research centers throughout Spain.
