Human resource development in plant pathology

摘要

Human Resource Development (HRD) is concerned with a process of developing skilful workforce with greater dedication besides possessing management qualities and training in technologies. It also deals with the innovative approaches in fields like agricultural sector and plant pathology in particular. Capacity building is discussed in this review with reference to plant pathology in general, vision of plant pathology in India, challenges in plant disease management, bioagents and their commercialization, endophytic fungi and microbes, fungal bioengineering and biotechnology, role of Trichoderma in disease and pest management, strengthening of biodiversity, disease symptom identification, population and plant pathology in relation to agriculture, plant health care programs, infrastructure development, waste management and other related aspects. Besides the above, HRD in relation to mushroom cultivation as an industry, commercial management of agriculture and industrial wastes and farmers issues are also discussed.
