摘要

Milk is the staple drink in Indian households and most people consume it in the solid faith that they owe their good health and strength to the nutritious properties of this farm-fresh dairy product. Dairying strongly supports the livelihood of 70 million farm families who are directly engaged in rearing different animals which vary as per their interest, preference and demand for various products of animal origin in India (Ponnusamy,2019) . Planners and policy makers often emphasise the animal components in the farming system for doubling farmers' income in view of their inherent potential in supplementing the farmers' income. Of late, there is a growing importance for more localisation of farming, culture, lifestyle and approaches due to less carbon footprints and long term relative advantages. Millions of small and marginal farmers in dairying who own two to three animals and produce an average of 5 litres comprise a critical portion of India's dairy development (Ashokkumar,2020) .
