Nonwovens production is growing in a number of countries. According to industry groups in several countries, 2020 production in Japan decreased by 6% year-on-year to 300,000 tons, while production in China increased by 25% to 5.27 million tons, along with that in Korea by 13% to 270,000 tons and Taiwan by 2% to 190,000 tons. Production is up not just in Asia. Although the actual figures have not been clarified yet, it is estimated that production in North America and Europe, which have a scale comparable to that of China, also achieved single-digit growths last year.
