First half bitumen exports rise

Exports of Russian bitumen through terminals in St Petersburg jumped to 188,500t in January-June from only 34,000t a year earlier, according to shipping agents. The growth refects development of bitumen loading infrastructure. About 56,000t of bitumen was shipped from regional bunkering company Bal- tic Fuel’s Turukhtannye Ostrova terminal in St Petersburg in the frst half of 2021 — Turukhtannye Ostrova started loading the product only last autumn. Trading company Vitol was the sole buyer in January-June, mainly supplying bitumen to Sweden and Belgium.
