NMT prepares for bitumen loading

The NMT fuel oil terminal at Russia’s Black Sea port of Novorossiysk plans to start handling bitumen exports for the frst time in 2024-25. Preparations for NMT bitu- men shipments and the prospects for biodiesel supplies though Novorossiysk’s IPP outlet were outlined by the general-director of both terminals, Maxim Murashko, during a recent interview with Argus. Edited highlights follow: How are plans to develop bitumen and biodiesel loading operations at Novo- rossiysk port progressing? For bitumen, we are in the middle of the initial engineering and design phase. We aim to start loading bitumen at NMT by 2024-25, but potentially earlier — depend- ant on market demand and permitting.
