Sempra’s plan for liquefaction plant takes shape

The Mexican subsidiary of US firm Sempra, IEnova, plans to produce up to 12.35mn t/yr of LNG at a proposed $6bn liquefaction complex at the company’s idle Costa Azul regasification facility. IEnova intends to install two 6.18mn t/yr liquefaction trains and a third LNG storage tank with capacity of 160,000m3, according to an environmental impact assessment. The company also wants to modify and expand some processing units and services to be used for liquefaction and regasification.
