The UAE's only integrated steel plant Emirates Steel Industries (ESI), wholly owned by Senaat General Holding Corporation, has found its own ways to survive and succeed in the environment of economic slowdown amid low oil revenues. Despite competition with foreign suppliers of cheap material, the company has managed to strengthen its market position through developing value-added and niche products, which is a part of the Group's diversification strategy.
