Carbon capture leads Dutch SDE++ auction

Carbon capture and storage (CCS) projects received the biggest share of subsidies in the Dutch government's first SDE++ tender issued last year. A total of six CCS projects with a combined 325MW received funding, preliminary data show. The budget allocated for these technologies was €2.12bn ($2.59bn). The highest number of subsidies granted for the SDE++ 2020 tender was for solar PV projects, totalling 3,426, with more than 97pc of those realised on roofs. The combined budget for these installations is €1.97bn for a combined 3.53GW.
