Indonesia ups 2020 PKS exports, driven by Japan demand

Indonesian palm kernel shell (PKS) exports rose in 2020, mainly boosted by strong Japanese demand from new, dedicated biomass plants. But demand from the country’s second- and third-largest buyers declined because of higher prices. Indonesia exported 3.17mn t of PKS in 2020, up by 10pc from the previous year, according to Indonesian statistics agency BPS.
