Orsted hits 100pc sustainable biomass target in 2020

Danish utility Orsted achieved its target of 100pc sustainable woody biomass supply in 2020, in line with the Danish industry agreement on certifi ed biomass, it said in its full year fi nancial results. All wood chip and wood pellet supply used in Orsted's biomass-fi red combined heat and power (CHP) plants in 2020, was certifi ed as renewable under at least one of the claim categories accepted by the Danish industry agreement on certifi ed biomass — FSC 100pc, FSC Mix, PEFC 100pc and SBP compliant. The utility sourced 96pc of its woody biomass supply from the same certifi ed sustainable sources in 2019.
