Hungary to provide grants for new renewables

The Hungarian government plans to provide 17.2bn forint ($59mn) in non-refundable grants to power producers to build small renewable units. Eligible producers would be able to apply for Ft1bn-3bn in subsidies to build renewable power units of 0.3-05MW each, up to a combined capacity of 8-20MW. The budget for these projects will be capped at Ft10.8bn. In a second tender, developers could receive Ft2bn-4.3bn to construct plants of at least 4MW each, up to a combined 16-24MW. The total budget for these grants will be Ft6.4bn.
