Vantaan Energia targets January 2019 start

Finnish energy utility Vantaan Energia's 195MW Martinlaakso combined heat and power (CHP) plant in Vantaa, Finland will begin commissioning in January 2019, following the conversion of the old gas boiler to biomass. The plant will generate 195MW of electricity and 330MW of thermal to the grid. It will consume locally sourced wood chips, sawdust, and peat from within 100km of the plant, reducing the dependence on imported fuels, Vantaa Energia said. The feedstock will be either FSC or PEFC certified. Peat will make up around 10pc of the total feedstock.
