State-owned Pemex could begin to turn around its finances if it continues to control operating costs as it did last year and invest more in its most productive fields,analysts with bank BBVA said in a research note.Operational costs declined to around Ps180bn in 2020 after reaching Ps200bn in 2015,mostly as the company reduced spending in areas such as general services and pensions."Pemex has been relatively successful at controlling its operational costs in recent years,"Mexico City-based analysts Arnulfo Rodriguez and Carlos Serrano said.
