摘要

Shrimp products are the best seafood commodity by value and confer about 17% of the total internationally traded fishery products. White Spot disease caused by white spot syndrome virus (WSSV) poses massive economic destruction globally in the shrimp aquaculture industry. Lack of proper treatment methods for WSSV infection puts shrimp farmers in trouble and increases the expenditure for the structure and maintenance of shrimp culture systems. The current review explores the significance of actinobacteria and their importance as economically and biotechnologically valuable prokaryotes that can produce a wide range of bioactive secondary metabolites and hence, develop lead compounds against White Spot disease.
